The Robberg Hiking Trail is probably one of the most popular and well-known trails in the area and also one of the most scenic. The route is a circular trail along the Robberg peninsula with two shorter variations – ranging from easy to mildly challenging.
A mere 20 minute drive from Moon Shine lies the Southern Cape’s biggest park, Plett Game Reserve.   The reserve is situated on over 2000 hectares of mostly indigenous beauty and is malaria free. There are over 150 different species of game and bird life.
Tenikwa grew from humble beginnings in 2002 when the owners started rehabilitating injured birds in a wooden shed behind their house. The wildlife rehabilitation work that is conducted at Tenikwa today is primarily funded out of gate-takings to the Awareness Centre
Meet at the office, at Central beach 30 minutes before departure, where OffShore Adventures takes care of all the nitty gritty paperwork and supplies you with all the equipment needed. Step aboard “Robberg Express” for an exciting beach launch and make your way towards the Robberg Nature Reserve and Marine Protected Area, home to approximately 6000 Cape Fur Seals.
Birds of Eden's unique 2 hectare dome (the world’s largest) spans over a gorge of indigenous forest. Currently it is home to over 3,500 birds from over 220 species, with the main focus being African birds. Visits to Birds of Eden are usually self-guided, however guided walks are offered on request.
Happy us enjoying a walk in the forest after the first big rains. 152 mm! and the forest is sparkling. The sort hike down to Whiskey Creek is the perfect way to start the day.
